The previous owner of Fred did not treat him well, making him sleep outside and ignoring him when he got sick. The shelter was a step up from his previous living situation. They found out that Fred, a beautiful golden retriever, was suffering from a serious respiratory illness but did not give up on him. They provided him with medical treatment and found him a caring new home. Despite this, when Fred settled into his new home, he was still unwell. His new family was understanding of his health issues and took him to the vet to explore more ways to help the adorable pup.
The veterinarian recommended that Fred should utilize a breathing device to aid in his recovery. Although his adopted family was determined to assist Fred in any way they could, they were uncertain about how they would persuade the large dog to wear the apparatus and have mist administered into his lungs multiple times a day. To their amazement, Fred appeared to actually like the treatment. It seemed as though he comprehended that wearing the mask was beneficial for him. Even though he was still adjusting to his new living situation, he allowed his new family to help him without any resistance.
Fred’s family applied the device to him several times daily, and he took his nebulizer treatments without any fuss. He quickly settled into a routine of receiving the treatments regularly, showing a good understanding of their importance for his health. Despite his tumultuous past and the trauma he had endured, Fred grasped that his family had his best interests at heart. Rather than dwelling on fear and mistrust, he embraced his fresh start with his new family, choosing to place his trust in them.
