“A Cop’s Compassion: Saving a Puppy and Finding a New Home”

The officers were on their way back from a call in the St. Lucie Region Sheriff’s Office in Florida when they heard a faint whimpering sound that caught their attention. It was coming from a septic drain, barely audible but enough to make them stop in their tracks.

They discovered a puppy close to drowning, abandoned and homeless. One of the officers felt like it was fate that they found him and decided to adopt him right away. The deputies were just about to leave the scene of a call when they heard soft cries coming from a deserted lot. Most people would have ignored them, but these men did not.

James Getting was one of the officers who discovered a small puppy in distress, fighting for survival in a septic drain. The puppy was frightened and tired, on the verge of giving up before being saved.

After giving him multiple baths to restore his canine scent, they made an effort to locate his family. However, their search proved futile, leaving Getting’s to believe that their encounter was destined to happen.

He decided to bring the little guy back with him and gave him the perfect name, Puddle. As he’s getting bigger, Puddle is living the good life and lacking nothing at all.
